There is so much power in the word positive. You can truly change your world and the direction of your path with the simple one positive thought. I'm and 98% of the time happy with life and my journey. But I'm only human and can get down at times as well. This past week I had to do a lot of personal work to pick myself up as my triathlon season hasn't been going quite the way I had hoped so far.

"In order to carry a positive action we must develop here a positive vision." -Dalai Lama

It is easy to think negative and to cut ourselves down. Our society trains us to do so.

Ask a handful of triathletes after a race how they did. You’ll more than likely hear. “I did ok. But"
-I got a flat.
-It was too hot.
-I cramped in the water
-I didn’t sleep well.
-I didn’t feel well

Ask a group of women to assess themselves and it’ll more than likely go to looks.
-I wish I was thinner.
-I wish I had bigger breasts.
-I wish I had a thicker hair.
-I’m getting crows feet.
-I feel fat and bloated.

This is what I imagine I’d hear a group of guys say.
-I need to be super successful.
-I wish I was more cut.
-I wish I was 6’0+.
-I wish I could grow a sweet beard.
-I just need to be the ultimate man.

My point: Our tendencies are to look at what went wrong, what we are not, who we are not, what we don’t have.

My challenge for you is to look at yourself in the mirror. Tell yourself something positive.
-I am fast and strong. (I used this mantra in my race yesterday)
-I am beautiful. I am handsome.
-I am successful.
-I will make my dreams a reality and achieve every goal.
-I am happy with myself.

Do this every morning for the next week. See how it starts to change your outlook on life. Pay attention as to how life unfolds for you.

Here are the two quotes from friends that helped me this week.

1- “It’s not a feeling, you are STRONG. You should always be confident in what you can do. The boy doesn’t change but the mind does. Strong mind, strong heart, strong body. We are whatever we believe we are. And you my dear are a beautiful, strong, fast, and bad ass lady. Don’t forget it. It things start off poorly you just have to remind yourself of who you are.”

2- “ Funny thing is meeting you, I feel like you have a lot of power behind you. You have the option to release it whenever you want with whatever you want.”

Change your thoughts and you can change your world. The more positive energy you put out into the world the more you will get in return. Positivity feeds on positivity.

Have a beautiful week everyone and make a difference in this world.
